“A survey of 6,000 information technology (IT) professionals indicates 94% of employers believe micro-certifications give entry-level candidates an advantage.”
NuPaths’ curriculum is based on Information Technology (IT) Pathways and programs. You’ll complete multiple role-focused courses that prepare you to earn industry-recognized IT certifications, take the certification exams, participate in a series of business skills workshops, and complete the role-based project within 6 months.
Corporate Faculty: Each course is taught by an industry expert who works in the subject matter he/she is teaching. The instructor’s experience helps students learn from up-to-date workplace scenarios, technologies used on the job, and the technical and people challenges the instructor faces every day at their work.
Continuous Curricula Enhancements: The course objectives in each course are driven by industry certifications. As the technology evolves and certification exam objectives change, the courses also refresh to meet the requirements of the updated certification exams.
Outcomes: You can earn multiple industry recognized certifications, a certificate of completion from Harrisburg University of Science & Technology and NuPaths, and college credits from Harrisburg University that can be used towards your future education.
You will be also be introduced to prospective employers for internships, apprenticeships and full-time employment opportunities.
While technical skills prepare you for the occupational tasks of a job role, there’s more to a successful career than knowing the technology and how the technology supports the business strategy. Business skills (also known as soft skills) are the skills and competencies that allow people to interact effectively and productively; skills like collaboration, communication, emotional intelligence, and time management.
Business skills are what separate average performers from high performers and career struggles from career sustainability. Employers look for a balance of hard and soft skills when they make hiring decisions.
You’ll participate in 18 hours of business skills workshops that are embedded throughout the NuPaths program.

“Few educational interventions can match the power of active learning when it comes to improving student academic outcomes. Researchers have consistently found that higher student achievement and engagement are associated with instructional methods involving active learning techniques.”
NuPaths’ students are active participants in their learning through individualized learning, small group interactions, hands-on practice, and personalized learning, with the instructor serving as guide and mentor as well as a subject matter expert.
The instructor is engaged with students as part of their individualized and group learning activities, but the instructor-led rotation specifically focuses on student and instructor interaction. Instructor-led activities may consist of presentation, questions, scenarios, case studies or content creation.
Group learning may consist of group study, group projects or group practice. In the group learning rotation, each member of the group plays a specific role in completing the group learning objective.
Individualized learning may consist of self-paced online learning, individual study and reflection, or individual practice.
